Every moulding that leaves our facility in Xiamen has passed three discrete inspection gates -- incoming material, in-process, and finished goods -- before it reaches export packaging. This is not a post-production audit; it is a process-integrated system designed to catch dimensional drift, moisture deviation and surface defects at the earliest possible stage, before they propagate across a batch.

System Overview
Quality Management Built Into the Process, Not Added at the End
Our quality system covers the full manufacturing chain: from raw material intake through CNC finishing and export packaging. Three formal inspection checkpoints -- IQC, IPQC and FQC -- are supplemented by batch-level documentation and traceability records, so that any deviation can be identified, contained and corrected before it reaches the next stage.

Three-Stage Inspection
What Happens at Each Gate
Each of the three inspection stages has defined acceptance criteria, measurement instruments and disposition procedures. Below is how each gate operates in practice -- not as a policy statement, but as a description of the actual production workflow we run.
Incoming
IQC -- Incoming Quality Control
Before any raw material -- timber, MDF board or veneer sheet -- moves from the receiving dock onto the production floor, it is held in a staging zone and sampled against a written incoming specification. This gate exists because batch-to-batch variation in raw stock is the most common root cause of finished-product inconsistency. We have found that catching a moisture or grade issue at intake costs a fraction of what it costs after machining.
What We Check
- Moisture content (MC): measured with a calibrated pin-type meter; acceptance range varies by species and target market (typically 8-12% MC for North American interior applications).
- Dimensional tolerances: cross-section width and thickness checked against our sawmill specification; out-of-spec stock is quarantined and returned or regraded.
- Surface and grade: knot frequency, grain pattern and sapwood proportion assessed against the order's specified grade (select, paint-grade, etc.).
- Supplier batch documentation: species declaration, origin certification and CARB/FSC chain-of-custody records verified at intake.
Disposition: Lots that fail IQC are tagged, segregated and subject to a formal NCR (non-conformance record) before any credit or return decision is made. Failed lots do not enter the production queue under any circumstance.
In-Process
IPQC -- In-Process Quality Control
IPQC inspectors conduct unannounced patrol checks at defined production milestones: after profile milling, after jointing (for finger-jointed stock), after priming, and after coating. The patrol frequency and sample size are set per production order, not on a fixed time schedule, so high-complexity or first-run profiles receive proportionally more in-process attention. Findings are logged in real time against the batch record, and any line is eligible to be stopped if a drift trend is identified.
Key Control Points
- Profile dimensional drift: cross-section gauge checks at the moulder exit; tolerance band is held to ±0.2 mm on critical dimensions unless a tighter spec is agreed at order stage.
- Finger-joint integrity: pull-test sampling and visual joint-line assessment at the jointing line exit; joint-line visibility is flagged as a defect for clear-finish applications.
- Coating uniformity: wet-film thickness checked with a film gauge; cure adhesion tested by cross-hatch tape test per ISO 2409 on primer batches.
- Color consistency: visual grading against approved color reference boards retained from the first-article approval; spectrophotometer readings on request for color-critical orders.
Escalation path: If IPQC records three consecutive non-conforming samples within a single production run, the line is paused, the root cause investigated, and production only resumes after corrective action is documented and signed off by the QC supervisor.
Final
FQC -- Final Quality Control
FQC is the final hold point before a batch is authorized for packaging and container loading. Every production order is subject to a 100% surface-defect visual scan plus a statistically sampled dimensional and packaging check. The FQC record for each batch is filed and linked to the shipping documentation, so a buyer can cross-reference a specific delivery against its inspection outcome at any point in the future.
Final Inspection Scope
- Surface scan (100%): each finished length inspected for dents, paint holidays, open grain, sanding burn and end-cut squareness before bundling.
- Dimensional verification: sampled cross-section and length check against the production order's agreed tolerance spec; any lot with >2% sample failure is placed on hold.
- Packaging and labelling: bundle count, label accuracy (SKU, species, length, quantity), moisture barrier wrap integrity and carton compression resistance verified against the order's packing specification.
- Third-party inspection readiness: batches can be held for buyer-nominated third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV, Intertek, etc.) prior to container seal without surcharge on standard lead times, subject to advance notice.
Release criteria: A batch may only be released for export packaging after the FQC supervisor signs the batch inspection record. The signed record number appears on the packing list accompanying every shipment.
A note on what our QC system does not cover: IQC, IPQC and FQC are factory-floor controls. They do not substitute for proper site storage and installation practice at the destination. Mouldings delivered to site and stored in high-humidity conditions, or installed before the building envelope is weather-tight, can develop issues that post-date our inspection. We provide storage and installation guidelines with every order and recommend consulting these before project scheduling.
Batch Traceability
Why Batch Traceability Matters to You as a Buyer
Two of the most common complaints we hear from buyers who switch suppliers are: "the second container didn't match the first," and "we had a split run and couldn't tell which pallet was from which batch." Both are traceability failures, not just QC failures -- they happen when the production record is not linked end-to-end to the shipping record.
We assign a unique batch code to every production run. That code travels through the system from the IQC intake record to the FQC sign-off, through to the packing list and commercial invoice. If a question arises about a specific delivery -- whether it is a color-match query six months later or a compliance audit -- we can pull the full production record for that batch, including the incoming material lot, the IPQC checkpoint readings and the FQC release sign-off.

Inter-batch color drift is most often caused by raw material variation, not by coating process failure. Our IQC species and grade checks, combined with a retained color reference board for each approved order, mean the root cause of any color discrepancy can be identified and corrected before a repeat order ships -- not during a site installation.
Moisture-Related Cracking and Cupping
The most frequent cause of moulding cracking post-installation is elevated moisture content at the time of manufacture -- typically above 14% MC in stock destined for heated North American interiors. Our IQC moisture checks and kiln-drying verification target a delivery MC consistent with the end-use environment. We document these readings per batch and can provide the data as part of a quality submission if required by a general contractor or compliance team.
Compliance Documentation for Audit
