Why Trade Buyers Specify MDF Mouldings
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) mouldings are manufactured from wood fibre and resin compressed under heat and pressure, producing a homogeneous substrate with no grain, knots or open defects. This makes MDF a reliable choice for painted interior moulding applications where surface consistency is critical to the final finish.
For B2B buyers, the main advantages of MDF over solid wood in interior trim applications are dimensional stability under typical indoor humidity swings, paintability without grain-filling pre-treatment, and predictable unit cost across large order quantities. Panel Intake & IQC
All incoming MDF panels are tested at goods-in (IQC) for density, thickness tolerance and formaldehyde emission class before entering production.
Ripping & Length Cutting
Panels are ripped to width blanks and cut to customer-specified lengths on calibrated saws, maintaining dimensional tolerance to buyer drawings.
CNC Profile Routing
Profiles are cut on CNC moulders from CAD toolpaths. Custom profiles can be developed to buyer-supplied drawings or physical samples.
Priming & Coating
In-house coating lines apply primer coats as specified. Primed-ready output is standard; additional topcoat options are available on request.
FQC & Dimensional Check
Finished goods quality control (FQC) includes visual inspection and dimensional verification before packaging. Non-conforming pieces are removed.
Export Packaging & Documentation
Private-label packaging, mixed-SKU container loading and full export documentation (CO, PL, CI) are handled in-house.

Goodwood Mouldings operates from a purpose-built 200,000 m² facility in Haicang District, Xiamen, originally established in 1995. The facility has been developed progressively to accommodate the full moulding manufacturing process under one roof, including dedicated lines for MDF, solid wood, finger-jointing, veneering, coating and CNC profiling.
The Haicang location provides direct access to Xiamen port, reducing pre-shipment logistics time. Our export process supports full documentation including Certificates of Origin, Packing Lists and Commercial Invoices formatted to buyer and customs requirements.
